BKBAT Inc & BCTN Inc host Bhutanese Soccer Federation Championship

20th October 2015
In 2016 the BKBAT Inc and the BCTN Inc is jointly hosting a major 4-day sporting event (Bhutanese Soccer Federation Championship) aimed at engaging people, fostering teamwork and creating positive social change.
Bhutanese communities around Australia have been hosting tournaments for 4 years.  Queensland, South Australia, NSW and Victoria have hosted it.  In 2016, it is Tasmania’s turn to host the national soccer event which will attract players from those states that previously hosted the tournament.
BCTN Inc and BKBAT Inc are thrilled and honoured to be hosting the 5th Interstate Soccer Tournament for the first time in Tasmania.  The annual national soccer championship has proven to be a good avenue to empower Bhutanese youths while at the same time strengthening ties between Bhutanese communities across Australia. The event is expected to attract approximately 380 players (300 interstate and 80 local), plus an additional 200-250 spectators per day.
It is a well-known and accepted fact that sports engage people.  On top of the physical benefits, sport also teaches young people important life lessons about hard work, dedication and relying on others.
